Responsibilities:

Master/Bachelor of Engineering or Equivalent

• Minimum 5 years ‘of relevant experience working as a developer with AWS & Python
• Ability to use new tools/frameworks/ cloud-based technologies to build analytical applications
• Ability to use new tools/frameworks/ cloud-based technologies to build analytical applications
• Ability to work in a highly demanding environment
• Possess good mentoring abilities and provide hands-on guidance to other team members.
• Collaborate with product teams and designers ensuring client satisfaction with the product.
• Possess excellent communication & documentation skills, interact directly with business users.

Mandatory Skills:

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and workflows using AWS services, including AWS Airflow, EMR, and Lambda.
• Implement data processing solutions using Apache Spark with Java to handle large datasets efficiently.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases for performance and reliability.
• Implement AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies to ensure secure access to data and resources.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows and pipelines to ensure high availability and performance.
• Document data processes, architectures, and workflows for future reference and compliance.
• Stay updated with the latest AWS services and best practices in data engineering.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role, with a focus on AWS technologies.
• Strong proficiency in AWS services, particularly AWS Airflow, EMR, Lambda, and IAM.
• Experience with Apache Spark and programming in Java for data processing tasks.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to AWS AI & ML related services
• Some exposure to building web applications - both front end and backend using technologies like Angular, React, Node.js etc
• Exposure to other cloud platforms –Azure or GCP
• Exposure working with Healthcare/Pharma domain
• Exposure to Micro Frameworks and Asynchronous frameworks
• Exposure to working with batch as well as real time data use cases
